Posted by: virtualassistantsjobs on: January 1, 2009

There is a sharp spike in people looking for virtual assistant jobs.

If you have just become unemployed or are looking to do something on the side for some extra income, starting a virtual assistant business may seem easy but it is not something that can be done overnight.  It is a real business and successfully finding virtual assistant jobs means you need to understand what your prospect’s pains are and you have to have a service that specifically addresses the pain and solves their problem.

That is why we started the virtual buzz assistant network.  We help virtual assistants find virtual assistant jobs via our private job board, but more importantly  we provide training for virtual assistants to specialize in Internet Marketing – this leads to better skills that are in hotter demand.

Trust me, there are a lot of businesses out there struggling with being successful with Internet Marketing and a virtual marketing assistant is the answer they need.

So if you are looking for a virtual assistant job – think about it more specifically.  You will have a tough time finding employment just saying you are willing to do stuff on the web.

Good luck on your virtual assistant job hunt.

Virtual Assistant Resume

Xmas Sunset

Does a virtual assistant need a resume?

Yes and no.  You need a document that sells you as someone that a client would like to hire.

However, a virtual assistant is usually an independent contractor and they are not going to sell themselves effectively with a traditional resume.

Instead, a virtual assistant that is looking for more jobs needs to have a group of pages that they can customize in various ways depending on the opportunity.

For example, a one page professional bio will look similar to a resume, but you will not put references on that page.  Instead the virtual assistant will want to make successful outcomes very apparent.

Next a page with testimonials from the virtual assistant’s past and present clients.

If the virtual assistant is sending it to a potential client that is in an industry where her or she has experience, you will want to cover that industry experience in detail in the cover letter or in another page.

The key to getting more virtual assistant jobs is to make every document address how you are going to help solve the potential client’s problem.  Visit virtual marketing assistant jobs network to find out more about getting virtual assistant jobs.

Virtual Assistant Job

Many people need a virtual marketing assistant.

If you are looking for your first virtual assistant job you have to be specific about what kind of work you are looking for. You understand exactly what services you are providing, or you may be willing to do most any kind of virtual task, but a prospective client that is trying to fill virtual assistant jobs is not looking for people willing to do just anything virtually.

They are looking for a specific skill set in their virtual assistant.

That is why our Virtual Buzz Assistant Membership Center provides training in how to specialize in offering services as a  Virtual Marketing Assistant.  Businesses looking to engage  a virtual marketing assistant for a particular job or project can visit our site and submit their project request for no cost and the virtual assistant job request is available only to our private virtual assistant members.

Anyone that is trying to succeed with online marketing knows that there are a lot of tasks that need done but should be outsources.  Owners should not be doing the virtual assistant job.

Virtual Assistant Mistakes

Posted by: virtualassistantsjobs on: December 26, 2008

The number one mistake I see virtual assistants make is not thinking about things from the client perspective.  It does not matter if you have a good excuse or not, if you have made the client unhappy then you have made a critical error.  And if the client is just plain not reasonable, then you should fire the client and find a new client you would enjoy working with.  But don’t do that too fast – first you have to really look at things from the client perspective.

  1. Are you communicating enough with the client?
  2. Do you have a virtual assistant project management system?
  3. Did you only offer to do tasks that you were comfortable with and good at?
  4. Did you deliver your virtual assistant services on time?
  5. Was the virtual assistant request realistic?
  6. Is you client making money or saving money by hiring you?
  7. Are you delivering what the client expected?

These are just some of the things that you need to ask yourself to help you not make the virtual assistant mistake of not looking at things from  your client’s perspective.

Keep your Virtual Assistant Job Longer

Here are tips to keep your virtual assistant job longer.  Believe it or not, many people do the hard work of finding a virtual assistant job, only to loose it from poor management and communications.  Here are things you can do to improve your chances of keeping your virtual assistant job longer.

  1. Have a schedule of when you will deliver your work and/or when you will check in with your client.
  2. Have a standard monthly virtual assistant report that shows your work and the outcome.
  3. Communicate the value to your client.  If their time is worth $100 an hour and you are charging them $40, send them and estimated savings message.
  4. Don’t miss deadlines
  5. If you must miss a deadline, let client know before the deadline, not after.
  6. Never let them forget about you.
  7. Look for ways to add additional value to the organization.
  8. Don’t be a virtual assistant that says yes to everything.  Stick to the skills you can provide well.
  9. Repeat instructions back to client before saying yes.
  10. Document everything
  11. Have a non-disclosure agreement

Stop back later.  We will keep adding these kinds of tips to help you find virtual assistant jobs and keep your existing virtual assistant jobs longer.
